This new event requires participants to go onto the RaW website in advance and download one of five available audio files and put them on your mp3 players. Then, every participant will press 'play' on their iPods (or similar) and follow the instructions given on the audio. There will be five different sets of instructions (depending on the file downloaded), but all would interlink in a dramatic story. Each audio 'strand' will be engaging and moving for the listeners themselves; and for passersby unable to hear the audio. Listeners will feel caught up in the story of their own strand (each of which will be voiced by a different radio actor) and will develop an intimacy with him or her - it'll feel like eavesdropping! Check the RaW website for updates http://www.radio.warwick.ac.uk/
As part of this year's Warwick Student Arts Festival, we are delighted to recognise the artistic talent of young people from Warwickshire and Coventry in a new competition, developed in conjunction with the Mead Galley in the Warwick Arts Centre.
The competition calls for participants to submit artwork inspired by the theme Hidden Treasures (5-11 year olds) or Journeys Into the Disregarded (12-18 year olds).
Winning and Running-Up entries will be displayed in the Students' Union building throughout the Festival. We would encourage you to take a look at the exhibition Journeys Into the Disregarded at the Mead Gallery, running from Saturday 29 May - Saturday 3 July.
